Funds are available to support eligible members presenting work at scientific or education meetings, short courses or training events relevant to Microbiology.
The Society offers a limited number of awards to enable undergraduates to work on microbiological research projects during their summer vacation.
The scheme also gives early- and mid-career scientists the opportunity to gain supervision experience.
The Society offers grants of up to £3,000 to support members who are planning a short (one- to three-month) research visit to another laboratory. This scheme supports innovative projects within established collaborations and the development of new collaborative initiatives.
Eligible members can apply for up to £1000 to support relevant science outreach or public engagement initiatives that engage new audiences in the art and science of any aspect of microbiology.
Activities should inspire and educate people about the importance of microbiology and its advances.
Awards of up to £2,000 are available to members who wish to organise a conference (in person or virtual) in any field of microbiology, either independently or in partnership with another Society.
